Shrimp Pasta


  • 1 ½ pounds fresh or frozen large shrimps

  • 6 ounces dried whole wheat or plain Linguine

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 2 tbsp dry white wine

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp snipped fresh chives or parsley


  1. Defrost shrimp if frozen.

  2. Clean with running tap water.

  3. Peel and devein shrimp but remain the tails intact if you like.

  4. Rinse the shrimp in quick and pat dry with paper towels. Set aside.

  5. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and keep warm.

  6. In a large skillet, heat up 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add in chopped garlic over medium high heat. as soon as the garlic begins to brown, add in shrimps and , cook for about 3 minutes or until the shrimps are opaque. Once the shrimps are done, remove the skillet from heat and transfer the shrimps to a serving plate with slotted spoon.

  7. Pour in wine, butter and salt to the skillet. Return the skillet to heat. Cook over medium heat. Cook and stir for 1 to 2 minutes to melt the butter and loosen the browned bits if any.

  8. Divide paste equally among four plates. Top with shrimps and pour over butter mixture. Sprinkle with fresh chives or parsley.
