Cantaloupe With Strawberries Salad


  • 115g/ 1 cup fresh strawberries

  • 1/2 cantaloupe melon

  • 115ml/ 1 tbsp icing (confections') sugar, reserve some extra for dusting


  1. Hull the strawberries and cut into half. Arrange the strawberries in single layer (cut side up) on an ovenproof dish or a baking sheet and dust with some icing sugar.

  2. Preheat the grill.

  3. Grill the strawberries for 4-5 minutes, or until the sugar starts to bubble and turn to gold.

  4. Meanwhile, remove melon seeds by using a spoon.

  5. Remove the melon skin with a sharp knife and cut the flesh into wedges.

  6. Arrange the melon wedges attractively on a serving plate and sprinkle the light caramelized strawberries on top.

  7. Dust the salad with icing sugar and serve immediately.
