Tips of Choosing Banana:

  • For instant consume, pick the yellow Banana instead of green. Those with a little green color is technically not yet ripe. It will not taste as sweet as those has turned to yellow.

  • A Banana that has turned to brown color is actually the sweetest. But do not pick those Banana with black spot, it might be bruised.

  • If you want to eat a Banana per day in the following days, you may choose the Bananas at different stage of ripeness while buying. This may let you have your Banana in prefect texture and taste.

How to Slow Down and Fasten the Process of Ripeness for Banana:

  • To slower down the ripening process:- You may put the Bananas in fridge or freezer. Although the peel might turn to dark brown but the fresh inside is still nice. Not to keep the Bananas for too long, maximum not more then two weeks.

  • To speed up the ripening process:- You may put the unripe Bananas in a paper sack/ bag together with the ripen Bananas. This is because the ripen Bananas will release the ethylene gas that will ripen the other unripe Bananas.
