Hummus

Ingredients:

  • 1 can 400g/ 14oz chickpeas

  • 70ml/ 5tbsp tahini

  • 3-4 garlic cloves

  • Juice of half to 1 lemon

  • 2 tbsp of olive oil

  • Salt, cayenne pepper and ground black pepper to taste

  • 1.5ml or 1/4 tsp ground cumin, adjust to taste

Preparation:

  1. Drain out chickpeas from can. Reserve some liquids.

  2. Chop 3-4 of garlic cloves, put aside.

  3. Roughly mash the chickpeas by using a potato masher or food processor. You may blend with food processor or blender for a smoother puree.

  4. Add in the tahini into the mash chickpeas.

  5. Stir in the chopped garlic, lemon juice, cayenne and ground cumin.

  6. Adjust taste with salt and pepper.

  7. If needed, add some liquids reserved earlier. Continue stirring until mixed.

  8. Place in a serving bowl.

  9. Add few drops of olive oil.

  10. Serve at room temperature.
